KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- MyKad holders who register as "Sahabat 1Malaysia" (1Malaysia Pal) can enjoy cash rewards when shopping at 500 companies which support the campaign nationwide, according to MRewards International Sdn Bhd which will run the programme.
MRewards International Sdn Bhd group managing director Tan Hang Ming said today almost 10,000 people had signed up as Sahabat 1Malaysia. Registration is free.
"So far, the registration is done at our booths during the campaign or at exhibitions organised by the government. The programme will only be launched in January," he told a news conference to announce the Sahabat 1Malaysia Membership of the Information Communication and Culture Ministry, here.
Director-General of Broadcasting Datuk Ibrahim Yahaya said one of the objectives of the programme was to garner information on the membership and response to the 1Malaysia concept introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
"It is also a gauge on the effectiveness of the 1Malaysia concept among the people, which is a KPI (Key Performance Indicator) of RTM (Radio Televisyen Malaysia)," he said.
Ibrahim said the programme would promote solidarity among consumers and the owners of the companies via the 1Malaysia concept in the economy.
Among the participants of the programme are EON Bank Group, Tourism Malaysia and England Optical Group.
Details of the programme can be obtained from the www.sahabat1malaysia.com website.
